Pedagogical Philosophy Statement
As an Early Childhood Educator, I believe in play-based learning philosophy that brings opportunities for children to learn and thrive through play. “Children succeed in programs that focus on active learning through exploration, play and inquiry.” (p4, HDLH, 2014) An inclusive early learning environment is crucial for our education system where every child is welcome regardless of their abilities and individual needs are being met. The role of a Resource Consultant is to collaborate educators, families, and transdisciplinary team, to provide resources and strategies to support diverse needs of young children.
Professional Certificates
I decided to take the Resource Consulting program because I want to learn how to better support children with diverse needs in a classroom setting. I feel the gaps of knowledge and experience when it comes to supporting children with different abilities. Every child should be given the opportunity to be included in their program and to achieve their full potential. My goal is to apply the knowledge that I gained from this program and address those gaps as a Resource Consultant in the near future.
